Do you teach Beginners?

 

Absolutely. I teach students who have never even picked up a guitar before, and develop absolute beginners into confident musicians, if they have the passion to learn and develop themselves.

 

 

Do I have to take Grade exams?

 

The grades are a great way to keep track of how you're improving, and gives you something to practise towards. Of course its not necesary to do, as ultimately it's down to you to know how good you are, and where your strengths and weaknesses lie.

 

 

How long does it take to get to Grade 8?

 

That is entirely dependent on how many lessons you have, how much you practise and your drive to move forward in your skills. On average however, if you had an hourly lesson each week and practised for at least 8 hours a week, you could potentially progress through the grades up to Grade 8 within 5 years of starting to learn to play.

 

 

Do you provide performance opportunities?

 

Yes. With the help of the other Instrumental tutors at Music Workshop, we regularly put on gigs with a view to have all of our students playing together, or with the tutors, to give students real experience playing to a real crowd, with real musicians.
